Development/Construction Process: | In 1989, Harry Bostonjian, now deceased, proposed the idea for the memorial. Victor Aroozmanian chaired of the endeavor and was assisted by Daniel Kurkjian. County Sheriff, Robert Herb obtained the approval and full support of the Bergen County Freeholders. Dan Kurkjian arranged for the stone and plaque from Ron Boyajian and Rev. Moses Janbazian for the wording. Sheriff Herb and the Bergen County Freeholders coordinated the event with the Knights of Vartan. The unveiling, attended by over 300 people, took place on July 8, 1990. |
