Report on the Arrival of Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh

As of 14:00, 100,437 forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh arrived in Armenia

Governor of Gegharkunik Province Karen Sargsyan, Governor of Armavir Province Edward Hovhannisyan, and Prime Minister's Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan presented live from the "Humanitarian Center" of the Government of Armenia the current data on people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and the work being done to provide them with accommodations.

According to the data provided by Nazeli Baghdasaryan, as of 2:00 pm, 100,437 forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh arrived in Armenia, 21,062 people used the shelters offered by the state. The distribution of displaced persons by region is as follows: Aragatsotn region: 1,878, Ararat region: 8,194, Armavir region: 3,104, Gegharkunik region: 3,009, Lori region: 1,626, Kotayk region: 9,490, Shirak region: 1,391, Syunik region: 2,273, Vayots Dzor region: 1,740, Tavush region: 1,902.

Nazeli Baghdasaryan noted that after midnight, the entry of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh significantly decreased.

The Prime Minister's Press Secretary also informed that the 13 ambulances that had left for Stepanakert to transport people with locomotor problems and bedridden patients have already left for Goris.

Armavir Governor Edward Hovhannisyan noted that as of 3:00 pm, 863 families – 3,549 persons – have been registered and provided with accommodations in the region. The distribution according to communities is as follows: 276 families or 1,167 people in Vagharshapat, 174 families or 680 people in Metsamor, 117 families or 492 people in Armavir, 96 families or 366 people in Araks, 113 families or 483 people in Khoy, 59 families or 233 people in Karakert, 28 families or 128 persons in Baghramyan.

According to the presentation of Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan, as of 3:00 pm, 3,276 people were registered and provided with accommodations in the region. The distribution by communities is as follows: 1,167 people or 242 families in Sevan, 322 people or 72 families in Gavar, 746 people or 220 families in Martuni, 565 people or 165 families in Vardenis, 374 people or 103 families in Chambarak. The Governor of Gegharkunik noted that steps are being taken to provide the displaced persons with jobs.

The Governor of Armavir noted that food for two weeks has already been distributed to those citizens who have a place of residence. The Governor also noted that, as of now, 33 families' children are already attending school.

Nazeli Baghdasaryan added that work is underway to start the one-time transfer of 100,000 AMD already next week.
