This book is about the 1909 massacre of Armenians in the Ottoman province of Adana. The massacre claimed over 20,000 lives and took place six years before the 1915 genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.
Hagop Terzian was born in Hadjin near Adana. He was a chemist and an intellectual. He was also a correspondent for newspapers published in Constantinople. Terzian was one of the first Armenian intellectuals who were arrested and killed in the Armenian genocide of 1915.
